This workshop is a follow-up to Introduction to digital photography. Now that we know the basic functions of a camera, we will go more into details regarding light metering and understanding the histogram. We will experiment more with depth of field and shutter speed. Composition is gonna be a important topic. And we will try techniques like multiple exposure, bracketing and Brenizer method.

First we will meet near Temple of Heaven at 10:00 am. After knowing each others, we will start with a discussion and questions that we migth have. we will cover a lot of things in this workshop.


Most of the time, we will be outside, in Tiantangongyuan park doing some experiments. I will spend time with each and everyone to answer specific questions or help you if you have problems understanding certain aspect of your photography. We will end the day with , yes a coffee or a beer, and have a discussion and conclusion of the day. Its gonna be fun.

  • White balance
  • Histogram
  • Slow shutter speed and ND filter
  • Composition
  • Multiple exposure
  • HDR and bracketing
  • Brenizer method
  • Flash and high speed sync

What do you need? Any camera, hybrid or reflex, with manual and semi-automatic mode. Tripod. If you have: ND filter and a high speed sync flash.
Very important, you need charged batteries and empty memory card.
Good shoes (we are gonna walk a lot!!), hat and a smile!!

Time: 10:00 am to 5:00 PM (1 hour lunch -not included- together where we will continue the discussion on photography) .
Price: 700 RMB/person (group from 2 to 4 people). Private 1600 RMB

Cancellation and refund policy

A deposit of 50% will be asked on your inscription. The remaining balance will be paid the day of the workshop. You are eligible for a full refund of the deposit if the cancellation is 1 week (7 days) before the workshop or else the deposit is no-refundable. But you can transfer the deposit to someone else or apply it to a future workshop.

Beijing Photography Workshops reserves the right to cancel the workshop anytime for any reasons. We will then give you a refund of your deposit or arrange an alternative date for the workshop. This workshop require a minimun of 2 peoples. If they are are not enough participants, we will then give you an refund of your deposit or arrange a alternative date for the workshop.

We are not responsible of your equipment or any accidents that might happen during the workshop.
